This is why they've imported a new army of 3rd world thugs with zero loyalty to the Constitution or the American people - once they roll out the service = citizenship; then the mass round up and disarming can(will) begin.

I’m aware of that very real possibility, and probably should have made more of it. It’s part of why I wanted to remind everyone that resistance is not futile.

Good point. Tyrants know that foreigners are less hesitant to attack a populace. When the ChiCom gov sent local troops to stop the Tiananmen Square protests, they balked, as the Tank Man image shows. So then the gov sent in troops from Mongolia, and they happily massacred the students.

Probably so.

Service = citizenship only works if citizenship has a value. Foreign mercenaries will quickly realize that "spoils" are easier and more valuable than the postponed reward of ... voting? Imports will work for their home-masters or for their own interests. 🤷

Great article. I have posted what I saw at the coup many times over the years and only got one sort of response. I thought then and still think it was prescient. And I like the ending. With your great explanation of the piece, maybe more people will actually read it.

Bracken really did a good job, it was well thought out. I know he reads a lot of history and knows much about old civil wars, coups and whatnot.

Excellent essay. Another quote from Churchill:

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate, you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

And let's not forget our Creator, God Almighty. He has a plan of his own and time will tell. Our resistance is his as well. Never forget that, or his power is rendered useless.

I doubt that the American Revolution would have been won without Devine help.

The analogy that comes to me is that of a bad, deaf comedian up on a stage, blinded to the audience by the stagelights. With every flopping joke, the crowd reacts with more anger than laughter, but the comedian only gets pulled off stage once the rotten tomatoes and urinal cakes start flying.

Thank you for reminding each of us of our power. That can so easily slip away from our thoughts, when we are pondering the unthinkable.

I agree that our power is significantly magnified when we are a well-armed, ready-to-defend-ourselves populace.

Thank you for this thoughtful article.
