After reading in this David Poe Substack: "last but not least, belief in a higher power is paramount." -this is a recent quote from a servant of Jesus Christ:
"For the Biblically literate, we, (humanity), were forewarned in Biblical prophecy these current events would come to pass centuries before we began seeing them on a daily basis. For those who still believe "we can fix this" through politics, no, we can't; because it's not a temporal battle. It's an on-going spiritual war that began long before any of us existed, coming to its climax in our time. We can only choose a "side" to support and work with in that final battle. But there is no "fence sitting" now or “do-overs” later. We must each actively choose the side of light and good, of YHVH God and Jesus Christ; or we default to the other side of darkness and evil and Satan.
Therefore, if you haven't actively chosen Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God...then you are in default. For each of us, today, there are no other options; I made my choice over forty years ago and His name is Jesus (Yeshua); I pray each of you who read this David Poe Substack comment will make the correct choice. Eternity is a very long time to regret a wrong choice.”
Fantastic essay, David. So many poignant quotes, including your own! You are absolutely correct that we must speak the truth without abandon, even when it is uncomfortable. We need to "normalize" truth again, and we can only do so by never wavering from it. That can require courage, the kind you write so eloquently about. And just like fear, courage can spread too.
It was bad enough during the early days of the Chinese flu when every show I listened to on Sirius XM, the hosts would always end an interview with, "Stay safe!"
"Controlling one's emotions gives one a certain amount of freedom from coercion and the tyranny of circumstance."
It also allows one to simply function more effectively.
I read, "Will" - loved it, and found much to emulate. He is, I think, one of the most mentally tough people about whom I've ever known.
"...but they should be said at this point."
Why not? We need to hear them.
"Act less fearful and you will be."
This is true. I have had to work, and work hard to exercise mental toughness to keep my mind in the present when tempted to devolve into the world inside my head whenever I've felt that my job was at risk - I know the fear comes from Satan - prayer, in addition to mental toughness helps me to combat it and prevail.
"And last but not least, belief in a higher power is paramount. Without it people become weak and fearful, maybe that's why it's under attack. Along with it comes the certainty that life is not just haphazard, and there is a purpose."
I love this, and it is the absolute truth!
"So, if someone says to you 'stay safe', please respond with 'stay brave, stay free'."

Excellent writing. I'm glad you added your substack link in Michael's Newsletter.
Thanks
LOVE Dalrymple!! He's brilliant!

My response, going forward.
Thank you, David!
I know someone who always says 'stay SAFE', never 'stay free', and I doubt he'd accept difference.
You put it well that this is unsafe here at every level, every turn, and 'things' are always happening, and very
little of any of that is positive by nature. \
Governments, I think know how tenuous their hold is, and are scared themselves of what could happen if they
really lost control. And, they never can get enough control. Like money. Many at the top are afraid at some
level they'll lose, and so amass more and more. Or, at least, that's a possibility for what they do.
For me, it depends how assured I am of having personal control, independence, and how I'm feeling.
We were involved in a very long setting up with a major tech firm, and it went from trying to get
someone else, which didn't work out, to working things out with them. Except THAT only
SUPERFICIALLY worked out, and so much was just wrong.
The old 'end justifies the means' works here because it seems the job likely was done properly even
though everything else was wrong.
Stay safe, or stay free is hard to apply here because we could most easily have been blamed for
what was on their part, on their technician's part. Easily. So, stay safe was the watchword here.
And it was ALSO stay free because in staying safe, we stayed out of it, didn't get the technical person
in trouble which was a mixed bag. He did the job well, but told us nothing at all!! He had trouble
speaking English!!!
So, situation by situation, we must juggle 'safe', 'free'. When it comes to what we think or know cah
be damaging then being safe IS being FREE. Free of unfair control. Safe from dangerous drugs.
I tend to call it 'learning to dance', so we're 'safe enough' to continue our life for now, yet free enough
to enjoy some of our life.
I'm sure others have lots of thoughts and ideas, and those are appreciated. All good ideas to help us
through often confusing times.
I agree about the balancing act. The point of being less fearful is that you don't allow fear to cloud your judgment.
Freedom is as freedom does:
