The GOP and the Harlem Globe Trotters

The Harlem Globetrotters make fascinating viewing, probably more so for those better at basketball than myself. They are not, of course, a regular team playing in a league with a regular season, but a demonstration team. Thus they need a similar demonstration team with which to play their demonstration games, that team being the Washington Generals. I suspect that one must need to be a pretty good basketball player to make the team on the Washington Generals, ex-college player, for instance, but of course their purpose is to play the Harlem Globetrotters and make it seem at least like the semblance of a real game. And it's probably a pretty good job for a while when you are young.

Watching the goings on in the U.S. capitol, one begins to notice similarities between the actions of the Washington Generals and the Republican Party. Are they actually in the game to win it, or is their purpose to make it look like a real game, while the Democrats set the agenda? I'm not the only one to notice this, but I did notice it.

Many Republicans seem to run for office not to preserve the Republic but rather because it seems to them to be a good career move. It will be good for their business, it will increase their connections with many influential and powerful people, and those cocktail parties can be fun.

There are persistent rumors to the effect that those outside of the agenda will become compromised in one way or another, especially in Washington. Epstein's operation was a real thing, but he either killed himself, was killed or had his death faked. They all seem possible these days. (Maybe he is alive and sharing an apartment with Elvis). These days you don't even need to do anything untoward to be blackmailed, it can be fabricated.

I don't think there is much more I can say about this short of rampant speculation, and all y'all can speculate as well as I. So I will just publish this as a really short article and hope imaginations run wild.
