As a way to elucidate the ideas behind the philosophy of the founders of the U.S.A. I thought I would do an article showing a number of their quotes, with some blathering from yours truly. Quotes are in bold type.
This link is to my essay concerning the 45 Communist goals for the destruction of America.

Goal number 30 is “Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the 'common man.'” With that in mind, let's look at some of their ideas and see what about them is so concerning to the Communists.
You will note that much of their thinking concerns things that many of them personally experienced in the tine of the Revolution. For instance, Franklin's older brother was arrested by the British for publishing things they did not like, so I think freedom of speech and the press was personal to him.
John Adams
"There is nothing I dread so much as the division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our constitution." ~ John Adams
If the above doesn't say it all about our present political situation, I don't know what does. Why would a selfish aristocrat out of touch with the common man be worried about this?
"Power always thinks... that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws." ~ John Adams
Ain't it the truth. The Communists might think they were doing God's service if they weren't atheists.
Samuel Adams
Not the view of selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the 'common man.'
George Washington
"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. Experience has taught us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession, and when the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter." ~ George Washington
His comparison of the dangers of government to fire, and that it might get out of control, speaks to what I think of as the fundamental political problem, inherent in all countries and cultures worldwide. Those with power will always seek to both maintain and expand their power until eventually there is a group in charge that can just do anything to anyone. Many Americans have forgotten this and seem to be happy letting the fire run rampant, and are happy to have freedom of speech taken away, as long as it is taken from the other guy.
Washington was offered the kingship and turned it down, an absolutely amazing act, leading him to be compared to Roman general Cincinnatus, who resigned from his dictatorship and went back to his farm after winning his war. Somehow, this does not seem to be the act of a selfish aristocrat out of touch with the common man.

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself." ~ George Washington"
With all the deceit going on, without arms the people are at the mercy of powerful forces. It was actually the attempted disarming of the people that set off the Revolutionary War, as the British had determined that that was the best way to enslave them.
"It is impossible to govern the world without God. It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits and humbly implore his protection and favor." ~ George Washington
Benjamin Franklin
"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"War is when the government tells you who the bad guy is.
Revolution is when you decide that for yourself." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. When you're down to nothing, God is up to something. The faithful see the invisible, believe the incredible and then receive the impossible.
Where liberty dwells there is my country." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"Security without liberty is called prison." ~ Benjamin Franklin"
Those who beat their swords into plowshares usually end up plowing for those who kept their swords." ~ Benjamin Franklin
So don't beat your rifles into play stations.
"Common sense without education, is better than education without common sense." ~ Benjamin Franklin
"Little minds think and talk about people.
Average minds think and talk about things and actions.
Great minds think and talk about ideas." ~ Benjamin Franklin
Franklin was certainly prolific. Today he would be called a radical right wing extremist. But then, selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the 'common man' come in all flavors.
Thomas Jefferson
"I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have ... The course of history shows that as a government grows, liberty decreases. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"There is no justification for taking away individuals' freedom in the guise of public safety." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"When you abandon freedom to achieve security, you lose both and deserve neither." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"When the people are afraid of the government, that's tyranny. But when the government is afraid of the people, that's liberty." ~ Thomas Jefferson
More selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the 'common man.'
Thomas Paine
"The greatest tyrannies are always perpetuated in the name of the noblest causes." ~ Thomas Paine
"You cannot undermine police authority and then complain about rising crime." ~ Thomas Paine De-fund the police, anyone?
"Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions." ~ Thomas Paine
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them." ~ Thomas Paine
More of that citizens being armed talk.
John Hancock
The more people who own little businesses of their own, the safer our country will be, and the better off its cities and towns; for the people who have a stake in their country and their community are its best citizens." ~ John Hancock"
This doesn't sound like selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the 'common man.' Grandiose plans for control of business by Government usually give an advantage to the larger entities.
Many such quotes can be found on the internet, so look them up if interested. These I found on AZQuotes at https://www.azquotes.com/.
I hope this has somewhat undermined the Communist goals for the destruction of America number 30.
Today’s woke joke:
What is the difference between a smart woke dude and Bigfoot? Bigfoot has been sighted.
Stay Brave, Stay Free
"So don't beat your rifles into play stations."
That's a good one. My personal favorite from the founders is, of course,
"...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others." Thomas Jefferson
Great essay Dave! May I indulge your readers for more from Washington? https://open.substack.com/pub/frederickrsmith/p/memorial-day-2022-open-letter
